About Ellen

Ellen studied with Mark Knight at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama (1979-83); after music college she took up the baroque violin, with Michaela Comberti and Elizabeth Wilcock as her teachers. Consolidating her baroque studies, she achieved a place as a founder member of the pioneering 1985 European Baroque Orchestra in Oxford.

She currently plays a Guarneri model violin made by Paul Harrild.  Orchestras she has played with include Gabrieli Players, The Sixteen, Early Opera Company, London Handel Orchestra, English Concert, Academy of Ancient Music, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, and Hanover Band. She also plays chamber music whenever possible.
